Latino Comics Expo 2020 Worldwide: Animator Showcase
Brayan Viera (Panamá City/Panamá/Panamá) I am Brayan Viera, a Colombian animator student living in Panamá. My art is a mix of pop, retro and the sacred. This cocktail I have called: Pop Sacro. Pop: my art is pop when I do portraits of my favorite musicians, when I talk about my favorite movies but always trying to capture the essence and soul of things, trying to distort reality with things like colored skins, symbols and spirals .
Retro: another aspect that stands out in my drawings is a seventies or generally old spirit, which is closely linked to my taste for rock, especially Latin American.
A rock very influenced by folklore and ours.
Sacred: When I speak of sacred I am referring to the invisible, love and feelings, I want to transmit love with my works and also a space for reflection and meditation.
I have had the opportunity for my art to be exhibited in events such as Canto Al Agua through OfrendArte, where they try to transmit good energy through art, and also that my illustration serves as the engine for projects such as the Rocketzine, where the money raised was donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
