MILONGA - MOLAA’s Annual Gala

MILONGA - MOLAA’s Annual Gala

Saturday, May 12, 2012  |  6:30pm

On Saturday, May 12, MOLAA will host, its annual Gala Fundraiser to benefit the museum’s exhibition and educational programs inspired by Esteban Lisa: Playing with Lines and Colors on display at MOLAA through May 27, 2012. This retrospective exhibition of Argentinean/Spanish artist, Esteban Lisa, marks the first time his abstract works have been shown in a museum in the United States. Although small, his works are subtly beautiful, from the restrained gradations of abstract form and color of the 1930s paintings, to the surprisingly vivid explosions of color marks across the pages from the 1950s to 1970s.

The Fundraiser Gala evening includes the finest in Argentinean culture. Beginning with a cocktail reception, silent auction and hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner for members, collectors, corporate sponsors and donors in the Balboa Events Center and special entertainment throughout the evening by internationally acclaimed Tango dancers. The Wave, MOLAA’s 1st Exhibition Fund Auction will also take place during the Gala.

Enjoy an amazing Tango performance. Food provided compliments of Thank Goodness It’s Sofia. Individual Gala tickets start at $250. Table sponsorship ranges from $2,500 to $25,000.
