ANTONIO ALCARAZ
(Spain, b. 1963)

Antonio Alcaraz Mira is Professor of Fine Arts and Director of the Department of Drawing at the Universitat Politécnica de Valéncia. In 2018, Alcaraz was one of twelve Spanish artists included in Breaking the Wall, a cultural exchange project organized by the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. His mixed media works synthesize photo-based prints with etched acrylic, paintings on canvas, and aluminum sheets and document the abandoned industrial architecture of the ports, train stations, assembly plants and warehouses of northern Spain. Alcaraz has been in a number of individual and group exhibitions throughout Europe, the United States, Mexico, Chile and Taiwan and he is currently represented by Cánem Galería in Castellón de la Plana, Spain.
