MIRIAM DEL SAZ
(Spain, b. 1990)

Miriam Del Saz Barragán is a PhD Fellow at the Center for Research and Environment at Universitat Politécnica de Valéncia. A regular collaborator with Arizona State University’s Herberger School of Art, she completed a residency there in 2019 and was one of twelve Spanish artists selected for the 2018 cultural exchange project Breaking the Wall. Her abstract works explore geography, the landscape, and space. In Metrocenter she takes what appear to be vignettes of floor tiles and visually bends them into origami-like shapes so that they appear to float on the surface of the paper. Del Saz’s work has been exhibited throughout Spain as well as in the United States, Poland, Italy, Germany, and Mexico.
