Itinerary

The trip will include 3 nights at the Hotel NH Collection Guadalajara and 4 nights at the Hotel Marquis Reforma in Mexico City. This trip will focus on the art, culture, food and drink of Mexico. We will begin our tour in the famous tequila producing state of Jalisco where we will be hosted at a special private tour of the Herradura Hacienda, one of the last truly working Haciendas of Mexico. There we will learn how tequila is made, from agave harvesting, to the distilling process, to the aging and tasting process. A traditional Hacienda lunch will be served to us on the gorgeous grounds of the estate.

While in Guadalajara, we will see the many famous Orozco murals, the University of Guadalajara Art Museum, the Instituto Cultural Cabañas and the Templo Expiatorio. We will dine at one of the city’s newest culinary gems, El Tequila.

After a short flight from Guadalajara to Mexico City, we will spend 4 days exploring this city’s extensive offerings of museums, historic sites and markets. The museum offerings of Mexico City are widely regarded as some of the best in the world. Our dining experiences will take us from the very upscale El Pujol to the classic favorite El Cardenal. We will be treated to a private dinner on the grounds of the Frida Kahlo Museum, Museo Casa Azul, with whom MOLAA partnered for their spectacular show last year, Frida Kahlo; Her Photos. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Aztec ruins of Teotihuacán, outside of the city, followed by a stop to the famous Bazaar Sabado marketplace in San Angel.
