Evenings for Educators are held throughout the academic year to help educators learn how to integrate more arts and culture activities in their classrooms. Each evening features keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities, and free educational materials. Join us for our free online summer edition, where we will explore an engaging selection of MOLAA’s photography and video from the permanent collection. Online games and fun drink recipes are included!

Evening For Educators: A Focus on Yolanda Gonzalez 

Yolanda González comes from a family whose artistic heritage dates back to 1877. Her world is curious, demonstrating her love of people and their surroundings. She is known for her strong, bold brush strokes of color and texture, powerfully evoking imagination and emotion. Join us as we learn hands-on art activities related to González’s work and related discussion prompts to take back to your classroom. This in-person session includes light refreshments, wine, and free parking. Guest appearance by Yolanda González!

MOLAA invites you to learn more about the diversity of Afro-Latinx experiences directly from artists, scholars, and community organizers most actively bringing attention to contemporary Afro-Latinx communities and their histories. For over a decade, MOLAA has dedicated a day to celebrating the cultural impact of the African diaspora in the Americas through music, dance, and food at its Afro-Latinx Family Festival.
