Celebrating LGBTQ Families: Figurative Watercolor Painting Workshop
Join us for an engaging lecture by Ignacio Darnaude! Renowned Latin American artists, such as Frida Kahlo and Claudio Bravo, all the way to Chicanx artists like Carlos Almaraz and Joey Terrill created astonishing queer imagery hiding in plain sight. Their coded images allowed them to express taboos and same-sex desire in a way that wasn’t punishable. Get ready to see their work as well as art history with completely new eyes. Wine and light refreshments served.

Delve into cultural exploration and artistic expression in this workshop, hosted by MOLAA and led by Filipinx artist Diane Williams, celebrating AAPI and Latinx cultures. This inclusive workshop encourages participants to bring a fabric of cultural significance, enabling them to weave personal narratives into their creations. Additionally, an array of mixed media will be provided, allowing for endless possibilities in bringing the fabric collages to life! Cost: $5.00
Celebrate AAPI Latinx Heritage at MOLAA! In Tagalog “malaya” means to be free and Malaya demonstrates the feeling of freedom when they perform, embracing both Filipino and American cultures. Join us as this ensemble of performing artists share their ancestral, indigenous, and present lives through regional dances and discussion.
