The artwork addresses the special relationships consumers build with pop-culture icons through constant exposure to the images and characters found in cinema, video games and television. Historia de dos Madres Hermanas symbolizes how the line was blurred between the artist’s lived reality and contemporary culture as fictional characters became embedded in her childhood memories, leading to a deconstruction of actual events in her life as well as her cultural heritage.
