MOLAA’s Evenings for Educators!

MOLAA’s Evenings for Educators is a professional development series for K-12 educators based on the five principles of trauma-informed practice: safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. Each session includes an after-work meal and a guest facilitator from a historically underrepresented community to invite questions, encourage discussion, and lead a collaborative art project to promote healing and empowerment. Class materials are developed in collaboration with teachers allowing for choice-based learning and in recognition of the unique expertise each teacher brings to the table.

MOLAA is a recipient of a 2024 Superintendent award for Excellence in Museum Education.

Guide for 2025-2026 Academic Year

Evenings for Educators are held throughout the academic year to help educators learn how to integrate more arts and culture activities in their classrooms. Each evening features keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities, light refreshments, and free educational materials. For more information, please email education@molaa.org.

SPECIAL NOTE: This year, MOLAA received a generous grant from the Ahmanson Foundation to refinish our historic floors! However, that means that our onsite Evenings for Educators series is on hiatus until after our galleries reopen in late October 2025. Please bookmark this page for forthcoming updates regarding the 2025-2026 schedule!

This programming is generously sponsored in part by the Arts Council for Long Beach.
