2025-2026 APRENDE SCHOOL TOURS & WORKSHOP PROGRAM

Thank you for your interest in MOLAA’s interpretive programming! We offer both in-person and virtual experiences. Our most popular offering for K-12 school groups is our in-person tour and workshop combo, which includes an engaging, one-hour docent-led tour and discussion of our galleries. Following your tour, you are welcome to join us for a hands-on art workshop based on the current exhibitions.

Pricing for this package is $12.00 per student and one chaperone for every 10 children under 18 gains admission free of charge. We typically book Tuesday through Friday at 10 AM, 11 AM, or 2 PM.

SPECIAL NOTE: This year, MOLAA received a generous grant from the Ahmanson Foundation to refinish our historic floors! However, that means that our onsite guided tours are on hiatus until after our galleries reopen in late October 2025. Although there is a temporary pause in ONSITE tours and workshops for September and October 2025, we have other engaging programs available during Latinx Heritage Month for your students, including;

  • Live interactive virtual tours and lectures;

  • Online group figure drawing workshops with our bilingual teaching artists;

  • And we offer mobile art workshops where WE come to YOU! All material provided.

To learn more about our Latinx Heritage programs and pricing, please contact us at tours@molaa.org Some restrictions apply. Limited availability.

MOLAA does accept CAP and ELOP (Expanded Learning Opportunity Program) requests. All school and community groups of more than 10 people, must book through the education department. Please email education@molaa.org.

  2. Herland: The Creation of Latin American Artists

    (45-60 minute live virtual tour of our 3D rendered gallery)

    This exhibition reflects the diverse creative and philosophical ways of thinking and redefining today’s world through the vision of a group of internationally recognized women artists. Their contributions extend beyond the modern and contemporary art community, offering a profound exploration of diversity and identity that transcends borders. These artists, from different generations and cultural backgrounds, create connections between experiences and worlds, opening pathways to new perspectives. Hand in hand with artists such as Leonora Carrington, Doris Salcedo, Ana Mendieta, Patssi Valdez, Betsabee Romero,  Yolanda Gonzalez, Raquel Paiewonsky, Maria Bonomi and Belkis Ayón Manso, we assist the feminine search through art as a constant and current interpellation where questions can be glimpsed in each portrait, scene, object, strangeness, generated by the dialogue with the intimate inventory in the modern and contemporary scene.

  3. Abstract Art: Beyond the Frame

    (45-60 minute live virtual tour of our 3D rendered gallery)

    Most works of art have frames because they serve a useful purpose, separating the realm of creation from the everyday world. But the frame is also a limitation, not only on creation, but also on perception. What happens if we stretch the boundaries? Join us as we explore abstract art from the MOLAA permanent collection!
