2024 Bilingual Arts & Culture Summer Camp

MOLAA'S SUMMER ART & CULTURE CAMP
MOLAA’s Summer Art & Culture Camp is an extension of its art education programming that offers attendees a fun and creative outlet while learning about the elements and principles of art through hands-on art workshops, language arts, dance, and gallery discussions.
Camp introduces concepts of:
Language and Culture
Children are exposed to and encouraged to experiment with new vocabulary as they explore the cultural elements of Latin American art, song, and dance from different regions of Latin America.
Visual Arts
Children learn about the creative process through individual and team arts project activities by experimenting with materials and overcoming obstacles in creating artistic objects for display. MOLAA’s educators encourage individual talents and preferences in allowing children to pick their own artistic medium such as drawing, painting or collage and to mix paints to create an original color palette for their works.
Performing Arts
Campers will exercise their cooperative learning skills through group musical performances to further communicate the rich Latin American culture through diverse artistic avenues.
At the end of each session, an open house is planned that allows campers to show off the skills they’ve learned throughout the week to parents, siblings and other loved ones.
For teen’s, Camp includes group and individual projects that cover everything from traditional processes (drawing and painting) to contemporary practices (installation). A self-curated exhibition encourages creative youth to learn to talk about their art to a wider audience.
