The museum galleries are spaces for exchanging ideas and dialogue and building deeper understanding. Works of art might share the artist’s experiences, address sensitive subject matter, offer a new way of looking at something, present a commentary on society, and more. It is essential to respect and honor multiple perspectives, even when they differ from your own. In this session, we will learn responsive facilitation, a visitor-centered approach where facilitators observe the group’s interactions, support engagement and observations, and reflect on what has been said and experienced. This occurs when facilitators practice generous listening (without judgment) and engage in dialogue.
