MOLAA Zoom Project – Antonio Romero (El Salvador, 1978)

In each chapter, in conversation between the most remarkable artists from Latin-America and Latinxs in the US, and our MOLAA Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga, we place the focus on a series or specific artwork which requires a close inspection and deliberate process of contemplation, and exploration; delving into the ideas surrounding the creation of the works, their sources of research and inspiration, in an effort to immerse ourselves in the world of the artists.


Antonio Romero (El Salvador, b. 1978) 

Antonio Romero is a Salvadoran artist who was born in 1978. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and he has received various recognitions. He has also held eight individual exhibitions in El Salvador and has participated in various group exhibitions in El Salvador, France, the United States, Canada, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Spain. 

He has been an advisor to FLACSO, (Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences), on a photography project. 2009 and Arts Instructor for the Young Talents Project of the Ministry of Education –UTEC in the 2008-2009 season. Member of the Selection Team of the Ibero-American Design Biennial [BID] from El Salvador.
