SCHOOL AND GROUP TOURS

 MOLAA Docent leading a guided tour

GUIDED TOURS

Available: Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 10 AM

Fees: $6 per visitor

Duration: 60 minutes

Maximum Capacity: 45 visitors

Trained MOLAA docents guide visitors through our galleries, viewing a selected number of artworks and engaging the visitor in thoughtful discussions about them, allowing the visitor to actively see the work in a fresh way. All tours must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.

Reservations are required and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.


 Children on a Guided Group Tour

GUIDED TOURS & WORKSHOPS

Available: Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 10 AM

Fees: $8 per person

Duration: 120 minutes

Maximum Capacity: 60 visitors

Enjoy guided tours of the galleries by trained MOLAA docents and art workshops led by MOLAA Teaching Artists. Visitors view a select number of works during a tour, learning to look actively and engaging in a discussion about the art. During the workshop, participants create their own work of art related to the topics presented during the tour. Tours & workshops are appropriate for visitors of all ages. Activities and lessons presented by docents and teaching artists reinforce Common Core as well as California visual arts content standards. Tours and workshops must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.

GROUP VISITS

Available: Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 10AM

Fees: $6 per visitor

Minimum Group: 10 visitors

Maximum Group: 60 visitors

Receive a discounted group rate when you book your visit of ten or more using the online registration form. Groups who book online also receive supplemental educational materials to enrich their visit.

Reservations are required and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations must be a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled visit date.

  • There will be a $100 fee charged for cancellations made seven (7) days or less prior to the scheduled visit date. 

  • Cancellations made on the day of the scheduled visit will be charged the full visit amount. 

  • Not showing up for a visit will be treated as a cancellation and full tour amount will be assessed.

  • No credit or refund will be issued.

Eating lunch on-site

Outdoor picnic tables are available for groups of 30 or less. If you require seating for more than 30 visitors, you must make special arrangements at least two weeks prior. To reserve the outdoor eating area, please contact Kristina Sanchez at ksanchez@molaa.org or 562-216-4166.               

Ordering Lunches or Bringing Your Own Sack Lunch

While Café Viva is currently unavailable, you may order food from a local restaurant and have it delivered to MOLAA. Please note that you will have to coordinate orders and payment directly with the restaurant. Or if you prefer, bring your own “sack” lunch.

Temporary exhibition spaces are closed to the public three times a year for installation of exhibitions. Before you book your tour, review our current exhibitions.
