Rainbow Mobiles

Join us in today’s Learn with MOLAA video as we celebrate PRIDE by making rainbow mobiles!

Materials:

· Cardboard (2 Pieces) Can be substituted with ChipBoard or Card Stock) · Scissors · Glue · Paint (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple) · Pencil · Yarn Optional: · Glitter · Construction paper in place of paint · Tape for extra reinforcement.

Instructions:

1. Get two pieces of cardboard and place them flat together.

2. Grab your pencil and draw three arches, going from the bottom of the cardboard to the top

3. Grab your scissors and cut along the pencil lines. You should be left with three arches.

4. Grab the biggest rainbow piece and paint a red stripe along the top and orange on the bottom. Repeat on the second identical cardboard piece. Let dry.

5. Grab the second biggest rainbow piece and paint a yellow stripe along the top and green on the bottom. Repeat on the second identical cardboard piece. Let dry.

6. Grab the smallest rainbow piece and paint a blue stripe along the top and purple on the bottom. Repeat on the second cardboard piece. Let dry.

7. Grab a piece of string and type a knot at the top. Lay it flat down on a surface.

8. Grab two big pieces and lay one under the string, colorful side facing down. Lay the second identical piece over it, on top of the string. Glue it down. NOTE: It can be helpful to knot the yarn right under the bottom of the cardboard for each section. This helps prevent slippage. Tape can also help with this!

9. Grab two medium pieces and lay one under the string, colorful side facing down. Lay the second identical piece over it, on top of the string. Glue it down.

10. Grab two medium pieces and lay one under the string, colorful side facing down. Lay the second identical piece over it, on top of the string. Glue it down.

11. Cut any extra string from the bottom and tie a knot

12. Optional Step: Add glitter!
