For three decades, the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) has served as a vital cultural anchor, presenting innovative exhibitions, free community programs, and inclusive educational initiatives that amplify Latin American and Latino voices. The museum actively collaborates with 33 Caribbean and Latin American countries to showcase their art and culture.
In 2026, MOLAA celebrates its 30th anniversary—marking a moment to honor our legacy, engage new audiences, and invest in the future of cultural access and creativity.
2026 MOLAA Gala & Auction: 30th Anniversary

MOLAA’s signature fundraising event celebrating the anniversary year. During the event, the LEGADO Awards are presented to the evening honorees who have supported and uplifted Latin American and Latino culture. This year, the LEGADO Award for Lifetime Achievement goes to Edward James Olmos.
ARCO Art Fair (Madrid, Spain)

As part of its 30th Anniversary celebrations, the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) will participate in ARCO Madrid, one of the most important contemporary art fairs in Europe. MOLAA’s presence at ARCO Madrid positions the museum within a global cultural dialogue, strengthening international relationships, elevating the visibility of Latin American and Latino art, and expanding MOLAA’s profile among collectors, institutions, and cultural leaders worldwide. This initiative is a cornerstone of MOLAA’s international outreach strategy, reinforcing its role as a leading U.S. institution dedicated to Latin American and Latino art.

2026 Day of the Dead Festival

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is an ancient celebration observed throughout Mexico and in some Central American and South American regions. During the holiday, people remember and honor their ancestors and deceased loved ones. Indigenous observance of the days of the dead pre-dates the arrival of the Spanish to the Americas. Join us as we explore the rich history and tradition of Day of the Dead, learn about the elements that comprise a traditional ofrenda/altar, and try your hand at crafting your very own Calavera poem!
