This event creates a space to celebrate, empower and inspire all womyn and muxeres through Artivism. The event will bring together influencers, educators, artists, activists, and vendors to promote intersectionality, social justice and La Fuerza Femenina in the Arts at MOLAA. The event will include speakers, poetry, music, art making, and vendors and culminate in an educational panel *Chingonas: The Rise of a Chicana Pop Aesthetic* from 2:00 - 3:30 PM.

In this round table discussion, Chicana influencers in the fields of art, popular culture, and activism to discuss the rise of the contemporary pop aesthetic that is rooted in Chicana/Latina traditions, rituals, and rites of passage. Some of the issues that will be discussed are the politics and complexity of Chicana and Chicanx identity[-ies) and how these are identities are reflected in the arts, vendor spaces, and cultural and activist spaces in Los Angeles and beyond, the role and impact of social media, as well as the rise and history of Chingona politics and aesthetics.


Chingonas Rise! is a gathering to EN-VISION as we begin 2019.
The event is open to all ages and is a safe space.
