MOLAA LATIN Heritage Mo-100.jpg

Hosted by Gabriela Martínez, Director of Education at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA)

Guests: Dr. Alicia Del Campo and Marisol Quintana

Join us for a virtual tour of MOLAA’s exhibition Arte, Mujer y Memoria: Arpilleras from Chile. Arpilleras are palpable testimonies to the lived experiences of Chilean women during the Pinochet dictatorship. Gabriela Martínez will host a conversation on the exhibition with Dr. Alicia Del Campo (CSULB) and Marisol Quintana of MEMCH-Los Angeles (Pro-Emancipation Movement of Chilean Women). They’ll discuss the context of these colorful handmade textiles and the origins of the process, as well as their political impact and visual legacy.

This Zoom Webinar is a part of MOLAA’s Latinx Heritage Month programming and is free due to the generous support of Hyundai, Southern California Edison, The Kenneth T. & Eileen L. Norris Foundation, and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
