In each chapter, MOLAA Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga talks with the most remarkable artists from Latin-America and Latinxs in the US. Their conversation places the focus on a series or specific artwork which requires a close inspection and deliberate process of contemplation and exploration; delving into the ideas surrounding the creation of the works, their sources of research and inspiration, in an effort to immerse ourselves in the world of the artists.
Join Chapter #7 of MOLAA Zoom Project where MOLAA's Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga will join artist rafa esparza for a virtual conversation. The talk will explore rafa’s work.

Join Chapter #7 of the MOLAA Zoom Project, where MOLAA's Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga will join multi-disciplinary artist rafa esparza for a live conversation. esparza’s work expresses his interests in history, personal narratives, and kinship, his own relationship to colonization and the disrupted genealogies that it produces. Using live performance as his main form of inquiry, esparza utilizes site-specificity, materiality, memory, and what he calls (non)documentation as primary tools to investigate and expose ideologies, power structures, and binary forms of identity that establish narratives, history, and social environments.
