Co-founded by Judith F. Baca, Christina Schlesinger, and Donna Deitch in 1976, SPARC (Social and Public Art Resource Center) has been a major catalyst for social change, building a collaborative process for diverse community members and artists to engage in civic discourse and create innovative and monumental public artworks. Pete Galindo will discuss Baca's pioneering process of bringing diverse voices together and will facilitate workshop exercises that identify richly textured narratives to build artwork.  Participants will also have access to the retrospective exhibition Judy Baca: Memorias de Nuestra Tierra.
