Celebrate AAPI Month with MOLAA’s Intro to Miniature Painting with teaching artist Wesley Hayato Dugle. We encourage both new and experienced miniature painters to enjoy an afternoon learning about the rich history of miniature & model painting, its connections to Japanese pop culture, and the skills necessary to create vibrantly painted models of your own. We will provide all the necessary materials but encourage guests to also bring their own brushes and miniatures to work on while learning these skills. Formal instruction is from 12-2 PM, and from 2-6 PM is open studio.
Wesley Dugle is a self-taught miniature art painter who has been an avid member of the hobby space since he was 13 years old. Wesley’s work primarily comes from the Warhammer/Games Workshop model & miniature lines but also has painted miniatures from Dungeons & Dragons, Warlord Games, Wargames Atlantic and many more! He has gained some recognition at local hobby stores such as Lost Planet in Torrance for his work and in the online community for the hobby as well.
Wesley has also been developing his miniature photography skills the past 5 years and loves to create “cinematic” depictions of his models and has taught many how to do the same with their own art.
