Past EXHIBITION

Portfolio series: osmeivy ortega

On view: May 11, 2019 – Oct. 13, 2019

Ortega’s works of art are inspired by the landscapes and experiences of his childhood.  The artwork presented in this exhibition – based on animal imagery - contrasts with his subtle political and social statements where the human figure remains absent. His work appears refined, though paradoxically uses rudimentary techniques and sometimes recycled materials.

Osmeivy Ortega has been recognized as one of the most promising artists in the printmaking world of the Caribbean. Ortega studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in San Alejandro in Havana and graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Cuba in 2010.
