Join Guest Curator, Patrick Frank, on a tour of MOLAA’s exhibition, Stein/Estaño: In and Out of Mexico.
Frank will discuss the political and artistic motivations that led American artist Philip Stein to become an apprentice of the Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros. He will also highlight the influence of Siqueiros in Stein's paintings, which address issues like the Civil Rights Movement and Global Warming.
About Patrick Frank
Patrick Frank holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from George Washington University and has curated a number of exhibitions on Latin American art. He is the author of many books, including Artforms: An Introduction to the Visual Arts and Twentieth-Century Art of Latin America, which he co-authored with Jacqueline Barnitz.
