For over 40 years, Susana G. Hinojosa has dedicated her life to studying, performing and teaching Mexican folkloric dance. She began dancing as a young child and by the time she was a teen, became a member of the longest established Folklorico dance ensemble. Registration is required; space is limited. Please wear comfortable shoes and skirts encouraged!

Salvadorean author Cynthia Gonzalez will host a book signing session of Lil’ Libros newest children’s story “The Life of / La vida de Llort.” Matt Sedillo and David Romero will share their Chicano poetry with the audience and Javier Hernandez, Kayden Phoenix, Rafael Navarro and Maxi Rodriguez will be there representing the Latino Comics Expo.

In this talk, Dr. Fredy González (University of Illinois at Chicago) will give a brief history of Chinese immigration to Mexico during the twentieth century and illustrate some of the ways the Chinese contributed to and claimed belonging to the Mexican nation.
