Documental que aborda la participación de hombres y mujeres, en su mayoría criollos, en el movimiento independentista, organizando sociedades secretas a través de las cuales apoyaron la lucha independentista. Una de estas sociedades secretas fue la llamada Los Guadalupes que funcionó de 1811 a 1814 y cuyos miembros pertenecieron a diferentes clases sociales y profesiones. Entre ellos encontramos a José María Luis Mora, Carlos María de Bustamante, Ignacio López Rayón, Andrés Quintana Roo y Leona Vicario.
